If you decide to turn the generator off during a utility power outage the following steps should be followed.
Remote monitoring with an annual contract is becoming the choice for a lot of our service contract customers. The 24/7 attention to each of thousands of generators combined with correct and comprehensive annual service allows us to provide failure rates of less than 1%.
The Kohler approach to monitoring is to connect directly to the structure ehternet netork thru the router to enable connection between the generator controller and the Kohler server's so that notifications can be sent to the end user or the company taking care of the generator.
If the end user is away from home, without the monitoring package, a power loss could occur and as with any mechanical product, a fault could occur and there is no one to notify the company taking care of the system. This can result in several type loss scenarios such as food, water damage, etc.; the monitoring can put an end to these type loss scenarios.
