E&W technicians take pride in all aspects of their work!
For some projects trenching is necessary for installing underground feeders between the generator and the transfer switch. For us it is important to make sure we do not destroy the landscaping while installing the underground feeders. For this project the technicians took out and then reinstalled 12" by 12" squares in order to make sure the necessary trench did not destroy the lawn.
This Generac did the job for 15 years, but as time passed so did the customer's needs. The unit pictured utilized a mechanical governor, not intended for large inductive loads typical for air conditioning!
The unit was replaced with a Kohler unit which better served the customer's needs!
The picture gallery below provides a visual for the new system.
This Generac was installed back in 1998 and at that time, it was one of the better generators on the market however parts started to become obsolete and the manufacturer was unable to provide any assistance. This made replacement necessary in order to provide a dependable system to the customer. We researched all product and determined the new Kohler 20KW Kohler with load management was a better fit for this project.
Due to the new electrical code requirements, starting in 2008 load calculations were necessary in sizing the generator system. The generator installed was required to be large enough to cover the load calculation unless automatic load management was used to eliminate any overload potential. In order to minimize cost, manufacturers designed and furnished automatic load shedding with their new systems. Kohler's product reflects their pride in what they deliver to the consumer.
The picture gallery below displays the difference in old verses new for the stanby generator product for the residential sector.
